The world today is facing significant security challenges. Capturing real-time, high-definition video images is now the easy part; creating complex, multi-camera transmission systems and bringing that video to a CMS is the real challenge. Wireless video surveillance systems are an increasingly common tool used for protection and law enforcement. This is due to their reliability, ease of covering large distances, higher data transfer rates, etc.

How to create a more efficient and stable Video Surveillance System with KBC Networks’ Wireless Solutions

KBC Networks transmission systems provide stable and secure wireless connections. They use MIMO technology to optimize the connection and improve audio and video reception. Images transmitted to the control center can be viewed in real time on site and/or be retransmitted to other remote locations.

For a better adaptation to the specific needs of each installation, KBC Networks has created three families: WES3 STANDARD, WES3HTG and WES3HTG EXP, configurable as point to point, point to multipoint, client and server. All solutions work in 5GHz (license free), covering distances of up to 5km.

Individual characteristics of each family

WES3 STANDARD: replaces the WESII model. It has throughput of up to 99Mbps.

WES3HTG: high power and throughput of up to 650Mbps. Thanks to MIMO technology we will have an aggregate data throughput of 1.3Gbps.

WES3HTG EXP: This is the WES3HTG model with an explosion-proof cover.

All wireless solutions support Power over Ethernet (PoE) in order to facilitate an easy deployment and management of surveillance cameras or other compatible devices.

Each model can be configured with 5, 9 and 17dBi antennas, thus adapting to any type of installation. The use of antennas is highly recommended for all places where it is not desirable, appropriate, or possible to use cabling for communications.

Thanks to the fact that KBC’s systems are completely reliable, they guarantee their correct funcioning in high security installations.

If you need a fast, simple data transmission system that covers large distances without having to deploy cables, please contact us.

The spread of the COVID-19 creates the need to establish secure and reliable environments, so that employees can be connected to the corporate network from any remote location and have access to all the resources they need. To accomplish it, we use Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and devices that create a virtual “tunnel” between communication endpoints, so the data travels encrypted.

What does a Virtual Private Network provide?

A VPN brings confidentiality, integrity and security of data transfer, which is crucial, especially if you have to manage confidential information or sensitive data. VPNs are becoming increasingly popular, even in private environments, because they are the most versatile professional solution for secure data sharing.

What are the most important features a VPN should have?

At first place, you need a private and secure connection and to achieve it, you have to use powerful cryptographic algorithms such as AES, Blowfish, Camelia, etc. The security of the encryption also depends on the size of the keys and the most used are 128, 192 and 256 bits.

Even though a VPN can be created using software solutions, hardware solution are less vulnerable to possible attacks and transmission problems. We recommend ThruLinkTM devices from KBC Networks, which stand out for their rugged design and optimized transmission performance.

What other advantages does a connection managed by ThruLinkTM provide?

The quality of KBC Networks’ devices is always very high, in the case of ThruLinkTM that assures good resistance, reliability and quality of the connection.

In addition, the connection established with the server is completely encrypted. You can choose from a long list of encryptions: AES:128/192/256bits, Blowfish: 128/196/256bits, Camellia: 128/196/256bits, SHA1, SHA256, RSA: 128/196/256bits, FIPS: 140-2.

On the other hand, unlike the vast majority of companies that offer this service, ThruLinkTM does not require the recurrent recurring license fees, nor maintenance.

The systems created with ThruLinkTM are scalable and easy to configure.

Signals can be transmitted over either private and public networks.

The multiple failover capability ensures a stable connection.

What do I need to have an encrypted connection with ThruLinkTM?

You need an Internet connection (via cable, Wireless or a SIM card), a device at the work site, a device at each remote location where you want to make a connection and a computer for device configuration purposes.

It is noteworthy to mention that the installation of the equipment is simple and does not require advanced computer skills.

In situations like the one we are currently in, where it is imperative to protect the employees’ health, without interrupting customer service, we promote and recommend teleworking.

For more detailed and specific information on this device and its applications, please contact us.

A reliable and efficiently designed perimeter detection system typically includes infrared photoelectric beams, microwave detection devices, thermal cameras, video analytics, lighting and physical fencing solutions.

“Creating robust connectivity to all the physical security devices is a design requirement to optimise an integrated solution”, says Luis Angulo, Commercial Director, KBC Networks.

While indoor security is widely used thanks to video surveillance, intrusion alarms, access control and IoT systems; outdoor perimeter intrusion detection is also providing an important further protection to critical infrastructures such as substations and power utilities, distribution centres, seaports, airports, construction sites, major events, public spaces, etc.

To offer this additional protection, KBC Networks and Bunker Seguridad Electronica S.L., have teamed up to establish a warehouse in Spain, so they can offer a fast delivery service for quality products to both Europe and Africa.

The strategic combination and integration of components like security cameras, thermal cameras, lighting and physical fencing solutions and more, provides a customised security solution for each unique application. KBC Networks specialises in enabling communication between video, access and perimeter systems with industrialised network products that are suitable for outdoor installation and use.

Luis Angulo says: “From a large selection of PoE switches and fibre media converters to wireless transmission and power products, KBC Networks provides reliable, secure data transmission to IP and SCADA devices. KBC also supports communications from unmanned sites, like power substations, by providing encrypted WAN connectivity to off-site control centres.”

On the other hand, ThrulinkTM, an industrial hardware VPN, provides the ability to display real-time video, audio and data using 4G/LTE in addition to DSL and fibre. Thrulink enables management systems like PSIM, BMS or VMS to communicate with multiple remote sites providing real-time status.

“KBC Networks works transparently integrating devices from different physical security manufacturers independent of how large or small the application may be”, says Luis Angulo.

For more information, please contact us.

This system, designed for traffic management and encryption for VPN, offers stable, secure and private connections over the Internet and at a reduced cost.

Piece of news:
The new hardware device for virtual networks (VPN) ThruLink™ of KBC Networks allows to create a secure, private and encrypted conduit within a public network that protects the information making it remain separate from the rest of communications.

ThruLink™ is a reliable and economical alternative to leased lines (it uses public networks such as the Internet), which reduces costs. In contrast to other solutions, such as a software-based VPN or a router with VPN functions, this device is easy and quick to install; its configuration is simple (no specific knowledge or specialized technical personnel are necessary), and no additional software licenses are required.

Designed exclusively for traffic management and for VPN encryption, ThruLink™ is optimized for CCTV (closed circuit television) systems, and can also be used for access control, public security systems, industrial control, government and military systems, remote video surveillance, secure data transmission, interconnection, monitoring of environmental and traffic alarms.

The latter is the case of the Singapore Intelligent Transport System: Singapore’s Junction Electric Eyes intelligent transport system helps maintain traffic flow, reduce congestion and provide motorists with up-to-date traffic information. The high cost of the rented lines made the transport authority of the city look for a more economical alternative finding in ThruLink™ the solution.

KBC Networks markets through Bunker Seguridad, the ThruLink™ device in its two series: ThruLink™ Standard Capacity / Standard Capacity Plus and ThruLink™ High Capacity / High Capacity Plus, with their respective models.
